Day Personality
Constellation Personality (Section Five—Character Six)
Today's "constellation personality" is Ox (牛). It is the ninth of twenty-eight "lunar mansions" (宿) or "constellations." Traditional calendars state that today's and tomorrow's constellations are related to the myth of the herdboy and the weaving maiden. Both are printed in black ink, but they relate to a powerful story that continues to play a role in East Asian life. And yet almost all of the modern astrological portents are negative—broken marriages, lost income, and lovers eternally separated.
